(SPLIT, CROATIA) Hundreds of Croatian photography fans filled the Fotoklub Split Gallery in downtown Split for the opening of art photographer Scott Takeda's solo art show.
"This is a big turnout," said gallery curator Josip Ostojić. "We normally have 30 to 40 people at an opening, but this looks to be around 400. It looks like our publicity worked."
Several Croatian newspapers covered the exhibition opening and Ostojić did a radio show to promote the event. Many of those same news outlets attended the press conference that kicked off the exhibition.
"I'm struggling to find words to describe this scene," said Takeda. "Every time I turn around, I see more people coming in the door.
"I initially thought that some were coming because I'm also a TV/Film actor, but no one has asked me about working in Hollywood. Everyone has been talking to me about my photography and how it makes them feel. Without a doubt, this has been a career highlight for me."
Takeda's exhibition runs through September. To see his latest work in his on-going Scene Street Story collection head to Fotoklub Split Gallery at Marmontova 5, Split Croatia or call the gallery at +385 021 347 597.
