Eldora, Colorado (2013) - My lovely bride and I often take our pups to the mountains for hikes. During a recent hike, we stopped for a breather in Eldora, a near-abandoned town of 142 residents in Boulder County. The downtown area was roughly one block, and there was no separation between the businesses and the homes across the street from the shutdown saloon. One of the houses had this aging garage with a steer head that topped it. I found it hard to resist capturing this classic, rustic image of Colorado because this particular story was told without words or symbols.
