Lyon, France (2013) - I have a fascination with people walking. The activity of placing one foot in front of the other not only connects us in that it can bring us physically in closer proximity, but also in that our need to get from Point-A to Point-B is such a primal desire of humanness. Through my lense, I’m privileged to have seen there is a simple beauty in this rather routine activity.
This photo is part of an ongoing collection of images of people walking. In particular, this is a woman walking to work during an unusually warm spring morning in the Place Bellcour Square in the center of Lyon, France. In the background is a statue of King Louis XIV whose rein over France spanned more than 72 years.
