Denver, Colorado (2011) - Our backyard has an autumn purple ash, which has become one of our favorite trees. Every fall, its lush green canopy turns into this spectrum of reds, ambers, browns, oranges, and maroons, which (depending on the weather) can last a couple of weeks. However a recent October, we got an early snowstorm, which brought all the leaves down overnight. I was heartbroken until I spotted these leaves in the corner. I snapped this shot this before the sun could dry them and turn them grey.
